importing goods and consuming them is largely the end goal of economic activity. so if exports drop, it is harder to achieve end goal. Stimulating demand doesnt increase exports so it doesn't help...

the 920£ is average earnings of an entire state, not IT in specific. qld, vic, and nsw are all in this ballpark. and they are official numbers of bureau of statistics.
