Cost of living

Re: Cost of living
I like, where possible, to purchase produce grown in the country I live in. It isn't always possible for climatic reasons, living in Canada was a nightmare.

Re: Cost of living
Living in WA for 2 months & finding the COL a real shock! Struggling to get work, so we're using our £'s savings & watching every penny! Rent is $440 per week, electric, gas & water usage on top. Missing lots of food things from home, crisps & chocolate are a thing of the past (no bad thing, maybe). Applied for lots of jobs & not being fussy either...

What all of it? That's bloody impressive if you're managing that.
We are friends with an Italian couple, who probably manage to produce about 90% of all their fresh produce needs from an average Aussie block..... but they are both retired and it's damn near a full time job for them.

Across the road, we know a couple in their 70s and he tends a 2 acre block - literally all in-service, and producing all year around. We get a lot of their surplus and advice. He has huge nets all over sections. It's a labyrinth of terraces/walkways, fences and gates.
