Agree - it can be expensive over here. Champagne won't always be flowing. House parties and BBQs seem to be the height of Ramadan. Also depends on tastes etc.

Not sure an international drivers licence is necessary - depending upon which bit of QF he's joining and what he'll be doing, you might be able to get a temp local licence and a pool car from QF...

Settled for matching London. It'll do but given how nasty things seem to be in London,...

Give it time. You'll have to adjust a little but will need frequent trips to sanity...that's how I'm getting by! The alternative is to try catching those in Doha who haven't instantly aged 20 years...

Thanks. They are putting the package together, so I'll hear the next couple of days. It's an interesting position, so that is the main attraction and the salary as you mentioned isn't too shabby...
