Thanks all.... my advice to would-be expats is.. do not underestimate the pull of "home". The bigger house/car etc really dont count for anything.

Good for you Julius.... sounds like you made the right choice. It would have been horrendous for your wife to have been left in that situation.

Yes.... he needs to pray for the balls to stand up to his parents and be a husband to his wife and a parent to his kids, instead of chasing a life which he didnt like last time he was here.

oh that sounds a bit harsh....
julius was not happy here in Canada when he had his family with him, so I fail to see how he thinks he can be happy here without them.
i think he has to put his kds...

he doesnt have to stay in bloody Tooting... just move away from parents.
i just dont think he will be happy in canada ( or anywhere else ) on his own.
He hates the situation he is in.. running away...

Life isnt all about Canada. If you lose your PR then so what, you can make a life for yourselves in Britain somewhere apart from Tooting. Whats more important, wife and kids, or living in Canada?

The kids are not doing medicine... they are 16 and 18, doing A levels, they have a long way to go before that, they need excellent A level grades, they need to get accepted to do medicine.. not easy....

When I had my daughter, the woman in the next bed called her daughter Tiffany... but her last name was Potts... I dont think it dawned on her that the child would be T.Potts.:)

We have two daughters.. now 18 and 19. Prior to our move to Ontario they both decided that they didnt want to come. Much heartache.... initially they didnt come.. stayed in UK...
