If you have a Chase Private Account you can transfer anywhere with no transaction charge the exchange rates are at market rate, the recipient may however have to pay a transaction fee.

Far as I can tell use standard transfer routes detailed in previous threads, as this is a "gift" so long as you fill out the correct documentation and declare the money then there should be no tax...

I guess it is actually a small world, my in laws spend half the year living in Spain. One Christmas we were visiting them when they were back in the UK and they were telling us of their social life...

My daughter got a TIN (Tax Identity Number) rather than a SSN. You can use it on your tax returns, once your green cards come through they then issue a SSN.
