This is so nice to read, thank you. My grandparents lived in Ryde and my dad was born in Newport and went to sandown grammar. I lived in Ryde when I was 6 and so I have so many happy memories there....

Thanks! Her grandmother was born ~1923 in UK, and was in the army at the time of her son's birth (my wife's Dad). She had met a Canadian man and moved to Ontario where he was born around ~1944/45. My...

Well done! I'm in the same boat after 8 months I've landed a whopper of a job, start in 2 weeks. Suitcases packed and we fly out on Wednesday :-) good luck.
