Re: Postal delivery scam: Parcel that doesn't fit in the letterbox

Yep, I regularly get this kind of crap. I just block and move on. Our factrice always rings on the door if she has a parcel.

Re: Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

Just a quick update. I am the owner of a shiny new electric board. The whole system was re-done to code, with the phases now balanced. More importantly, we discovered that during the rebuilding of an...

Re: UK/US DL Issue

No. You cannot get a DL if you are not legally resident in the US. You will not have trouble obtaining insurance, but I'd rethink the whole idea, as it's going to be much cheaper and easier in the...

Re: Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

Thanks for the reply, this is exactly the same kind of cookier setup we have. 3 gas hobs, one electric hob and an electric over. I think we have got to the bottom of the problems. Our breaker was...

Re: Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

Update - Enedis came and changed the breaker for free. The old was from 1963 and should not have passed inspection. New one is 2x the capacity and so far no trips... Apparently I need to get an...

Re: Question about prescriptions....

I live in a very rural area. It's a 40km round trip to buy a loaf of bread.... There's no doctors nearby.... All the ones I have spoken to just say they are not taking new patients and appointments...

Re: Question about prescriptions....

No, no specialist needed... It's generic BP and gout med. I've had this script for >10 years from my US doctor. I've got CPAM, Amelie, EHIC etc. All good on that front...
I've searched Doctorlib and...

Question about prescriptions....

We moved to a semi-rural area ~4 months ago, and so far we have been unable to find a doctor who is accepting new patients. We are on the list for the medical practice in the next village over but I...

Re: Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

My supply is split. On the board I have 2 breakers as I have both 440V AC 2-phase for the house and a separate supply of 380V 3-phase for the workshop, as the previous owner used to run his...

Re: Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

Not sure, but I can't figure out why that would matter as the breaker is on my consumer unit and is the one that's tripping.

Is a 440V 30A feed insufficient for a 180 m2 house?

Our main breaker keeps tripping. It's a combo RCD and breaker, rated for 440V @ 30A. To my mind this is way too low. As we've added more electrical items we are seeing daily trips. A simple...

Could I please get a recommendation for a car insurance? I am getting a complete run-around with our house insurer (Groupama). I thought this would be relatively easy but it is turning out to...

Re: Why are French realtors so useless?

Not a castle, but there are a lot of outbuildings... I'm pretty sure no one wants old offcuts of wood, broken chairs, old cans of paint, children's outside playscapes (broken) and lots or dust,...

Re: Why are French realtors so useless?

Quick update. We are here for a few weeks. We came for a 'vacation' and to prepare for the move. A vacation would be a stretch, as the previous owners had lived in the house for 55 years and had...

Re: Why are French realtors so useless?

Just a quick update. The acte de vente has just been signed and we now own our slice of France. We did find a very proactive and helpful RE agent for this sale.

As a sidenote, I am discovering...
