Málaga City

We have recently arrived for our 6 month stay. Is there anyone in the city who would like to meet up for a coffee and give us the benefit of their knowledge of the place??

We are only here for 6 months and would to get a Spanish SIM. Any advice as to the best/cheapest one please?

We've been looking at the Enalquiler and Fotocasa websites. The prices seem to vary greatly from 550 euros to 850 euros per month for similar sounding properties to the east of the city, El Limonar...

When renting in the UK the agent/owner will ask for deposits and references.

How will references be followed up in Spain??

Has anyone any experience of renting for 6 months or more?

For our extended stay in Malaga do we need travel insurance? If so, which companies offer cover for more than 49 days please?

Goodness, how helpful you all are, thank you.

Why Malaga City? - it's easy for family and friends to get to from Edinburgh. There are good train links and it's warmer than Madrid.
