Moving to Perth next month, just for a year, and after visiting there I feel a year will be enough. Although it is a lovely city, it is just too isolated for me, but it does depend on what lifestyle...

I can't think of any hotel that 'does local' as they tend to cater for expats and holiday makers. The hotels all then to be quite samey, upmarket and impersonal, but the service is excellent!

Hi There

I have flown to Perth via Dubai and had a 3 day stopover there. Nothing wrong with Dubai or the airport, in fact it is quite a nice airport with plenty of shopping etc for the stopover....
