Yes it would annoy them. The whole idea of a delivery confirmation is that you have some proof that they got it. That's the end of it. You are not the only applicant and they don't have the resources...

They do not have to give you a visa just because you have an interview. You will have to take your wife and possibly your son. Why did you apply in Paris when you could have applied in New Delhi??????
