Re: August 2010 Visa Applications. (merged threads)

Theoretically - yes.
However, it takes time to get SMP approval from state/teritorry + there are limited numbers there, so probably when it comes to 175/176 diac is busy like half of the time with...

Re: Applying 176 after lodged for 175 (post 1st July 2010)

You can't have it all - and the new rules clearly state you cannot change 175 to 176 without resetting an application. I am also a 175 applicant (Sept 2010). Regarding high risk countries - there is...

Re: Are we stuffed, under new points system?

Dorothy, I think you made the right choice that you moved to AU, and not UK (I'm assuming you're in AU now).

Re: Are we stuffed, under new points system?

So as I said
1. Consult with a registered migration agent
2. I think your wife has to enroll to studies in AU, so you can get in quicker

Re: Are we stuffed, under new points system?

Can't your relative sponsor you? you can also try and get state sponsorship (5 points) - getting to work in OZ without already being able to work there (as result of being PR for example) - is hard,...

Re: Processing time for 175 lodged now

Cool for you about VIC! I saw your timeline, and I'm also a Developer programmer - but I lodged 175 - didn't want to take the risk that Developer programmer won't be on the list of VIC, as it wasn't...

Re: New point test available NOW on DIAC site

IELTS has a factor of relativity in the calculation of results. I am not a native english speaker, and still managed to get an average of 8.5

Re: Processing time for 175 lodged now

Don't set your hopes high on the new list - in addition, in July 2011 you will be facing the new points tests - it's just getting tougher and tougher to get to Australia. I was in a dilemma whether...

Re: OMG...our PR175 Visa's granted

Good luck!

Re: Thank God for My Visa

I am very happy to hear that things worked out well for you.

Re: Visa GRANT

Probably "leftover" from CSL days - I mean, someone who was on the CSL list.
Had I started the process (the entire process, I mean, even IELTS exam) 2 months before I started, I would have gotten...

Re: which state immigration opened?

Good for you for applying to 176 on Sept 2010! I wish I had known about the list mentioned above for SA, just saw my profession is there. Did not know states are accepting SS requests, if they are on...

Re: August 2010 Visa Applications. (merged threads)

I think there is for all visa classes, but it varies - I think that I saw that it is estimated that in the year 2010 - 2011 somewhere between 30,000-35,000 175 visas will be granted.
As I previously...

Re: August 2010 Visa Applications. (merged threads)

1. I am not sure about anything.
2. When I said processing - i meant reaching the stage of CO allocation (if Diac continues to work in the current pace, but it might take longer, as they will slow...

Re: August 2010 Visa Applications. (merged threads)

My agent lodged the request on the end of August.
Had to have ACS assessment - Java specialist, then changed (due to ANZSCO ) to "Developer programmer" (this was really fast!) and now 175 request...

Re: 2231-79 (ACS code)- Merged threads

As far as I understood, all those who are not in schedule 3, but 4, and got their letters recently may apply for free-reassessment, and yes - one of the reasons is change of to anzsco system of...

Re: DIAC told me 2231-79 (Oracle Spec) does NOT require reassessment

Regarding software engineer vs developer programmer - you can see professions like software designer were mapped to that - pay attention to asco definition of software engineer - i think it will be...

Re: DIAC told me 2231-79 (Oracle Spec) does NOT require reassessment

I am in a dilemma if to get reassessment as SW engineer or as a developer programmer. I 've been developing since 2003. I owe a BSC in computer Science. In all my work places I was required to...

Re: Merged threads on ASCO code confusion

Ok,
We filed a request to ACS on February 24th, and got the letter (up to 21 days overseas according to their site) last week, on June 22th.
This clearly means that the assessment was done...

Re: Merged threads on ASCO code confusion

No I don't - this is why I asked him. However, you will have to give more evidence for "Developer programmer" and other ANZSCO professions - for example "Developr programmer" is not just a plain...

I don't understand - why are you getting mad ? Can't you follow the instructions of ACS on their website and get ANZSCO code for free?

Re: Merged threads on ASCO code confusion

Yes, of course. This is what I meant, and not filing the visa.
However, I am looking for the assessment date on the letter I got from them and I don't see it. I only see we filed the ACS assessment...
