if you have a secondary card holder, be aware the card and credit history will only show up in the main card holders name, my Hubby has had an Amex card for 16yrs and it shows on his US credit score,...

we bank with HSBC and have UK account as well as USA account, I go online and transfer between the two. The online limit is $100,000 p/day so check your bank limits etc, if you need to transfer more...

We used Cadogan Tate, they were very good, we shipped furniture and stuff and also had air freight, they packed it all and unpacked this end. No breakages and helpful courteous staff. Can't comment...

We paid the $400 joining fee for AIG and we pay $600 every 6 months for two new cars, we also paid $250 for renters insurance (tennants) and it was the best quote and the easiest company to deal with...

Some banks will only hold accounts for UK residents.
You could try swopping to online stat's until you get sorted, at least it will hold any mail going to your old address, it will only be mail...

Our shipping crate was picked up on Aug 20th, set sail for New York on 29th Aug, arrived 6th Sept, just waiting for it to clear customs etc now, not sure how long that will take but my "furniture"...

Not all banks will accept c/o address or US address, check your bank.
I'm with LLoyds, they said no, as did A&L, HSBC have been fab and I opened a global account (one in UK and one in US) this also...
