The instructions on the I-751 say:

"All checks and money orders must be drawn on a bank or other institution located in the United States"

i.e. a cashier's check.

I'll phone HSBC and ask...

I-751 at Cali Service Center

Hey - we submitted our I-751 to the California Service Center three weeks ago. The instructions on the form said to send in a cashier's check - so I have no idea if and when it was cashed. We...

Not true. I opened my US bank account whilst still living in the UK - before I got my K1.

I opened my US bank account while I was still living in England (before I got my K1). HSBC - the world's global bank :-)

Re: CA DMV and K-1 Visa

I came in on a K1 (Los Angeles). All the DMV asked to see when I applied for my driving licence was my passport and Social Security card. It was before we were married and applied for AOS.

Re: Country of Citizenship?

I went through K1/AOS. I used "United Kingdom" as my location/country of birth and put "British" for the nationality. Didn't seem to cause any problems.. ;-))

Re: Silly Question I guess

yeah we did a Vegas wedding when I came in on my K1 :-) We tried to get Elvis but the King of Rock and Roll charges rock and roll prices and was sadly out of our financial reach! We had a nice...

Re: K1 visa, how old financial information

Hey Rene,

Just to clear up the confusion - you don't "self-sponsor on the I-134" at London. If you self sponsor you don't need to submit an I-134 at all - that form is only needed if someone is...

Re: K1 visa, how old financial information

Double check with the US Embassy your fiance will be using - but if your fiance has a job lined up in the States or some savings of their own, they can usually use either of these at K1 interview...

Re: Vaccination Supplement - AOS

Phone around - different doctors will fill out the form for different amounts. I've seen as low as ten bucks on this forum for the Vaccination Supplement. I paid fifty, although I have seen as high...

Re: I-134 self sponsorship option

I self sponsored for my K1 interview at the London Consulate. You are right - there is no minimum amount laid down anywhere which is unhelpful - so I emailed the Embassy and asked them instead. After...

Re: K-1 Visa Questions

Yes. I successfully self-sponsored through London for my K1 and therefore did not use or submit an I-134. As Rene has said though - this is consulate specific - London give you several options (an...

Re: Transfer large amount of cash from UK to US

Hi Ian,

Actually this isn't true for money transfers - it's if you bring more than $10k in cash/bonds etc physically into the country. I transferred more than this amount when I moved here from...

Re: Transfer large amount of cash from UK to US

Re: K-1 holder entering as tourist

I was always under the impression that the trip to the States you made after receiving your K1 was the one that "activated" the visa. Not sure if you'd be able to convince Immigration that you...

Re: Evidence of Support

Defnitely check with your consulate on this issue. London for example you don't need to submit an I-134 if you choose to self-sponsor instead (as I did for my k1 interview). Other consulates you must...

Re: Form I-134 for K1

Self-sponsoring has nothing to do with your US Fiancee's funds?? If you (as the UK citizen) have sufficient funds/savings in your UK bank account then you can use these funds at your interview...

Re: Form I-134 for K1

If the joint sponsor/I-134 route is proving problematic you can always ditch it and self-sponsor at K1 interview stage instead (should you have sufficient funds that is). Usually anything over a...

No they can't. There are two lines at Gatwick - one for EU Passport holders and one for everyone else. You join the EU Passport queue and your wife and kids join the "all others" one.

On your...

Re: Does Vacc Supp hold up EAD????

I had chickenpox when I was a kid so didn't need (and never received) the vaccine for it! The one I had trouble with in England was the MMR jab so I got that done in the States instead. If you were...
