According to the CIC website i'm looking at 44 days to get Step 1 completed, followed by 9 months for the part done in Britain.

Right, but if I do outland I get PR in 4 + 9 months, whereas if I do Inland I get PR in about 9 + 9 months but, BUT can get a work permit when first stage processing is complete in 9 months.

I was convicted in Jan 2004 in the United Kingdom of drink driving, AND driving without insurance (friend's car). My sentence was a 20 month ban and GBP 500 fine.

Think on it like this; Almost ALL the CO2 increase over the past 250 years has come from Europe and North America. Only in the last 20 years have China and India come anywhere NEAR our per capita...
