Re: Maybe move from Calgary to Toronto

Not sure that I agree with your reasoning there. The population of Baghdad is 6.5 million. Whilst it's probably got some nice museums, I dunno if I'd want to be transferred there.

Re: Can I do courses for free if out of work ?

Sounds like a fairly typical chef.

I get my facts from TV.

Re: If the UK is a nation of shopkeepers...

Aha, is that why there are so few Pakistanis in the prairies? (This is a re-jig of a racist joke about the Romans).

Re: Outdoors in Vancouver accessible by public transport?

There's nothing scenic about an old man's schlong.

Re: Lest we forget...

Um, they posted their video on June 29th. If anything, it's the other way round. And you must admit, "Voluptuously Minced" is a pretty good name for an album.

Re: How dog friendly is Vancouver?

Not really. Canada isn't really very big on green issues; it's one of the most polluting countries in the world.

Metro Vancouver mayors recently voted not to increase transit funding that would...

Apparently this is one of the related videos:

You'd be right to suggest that. Great refereeing.

Re: Outdoors in Vancouver accessible by public transport?

Are you smoking crack? Wait, you're riding the bus, so quite possibly you are. We didn't bother renting a car for the first six months here and didn't buy one until we'd been here for two years....

Re: How dog friendly is Vancouver?

The co-op is a rip-off. It's nearly always cheaper to rent and you get the car for the full day. They've obviously got some good hippy-marketing spin going on which is working well for them.

Re: Outdoors in Vancouver accessible by public transport?

Re: Outdoors in Vancouver accessible by public transport?

Most car rental places are accessible by public transport.

Otherwise, I suppose you can walk/run/bike round the sea wall. Have you been banned from driving?

Re: How dog friendly is Vancouver?

That's not really how public transport works out here. People only use it if they're too poor or young to drive; or if the parking at their destination is extortionate (i.e. commuting downtown).

Re: Lest we forget...

There's a photo on the slideshow we have going on the plasma screen in our office of a curry I had on a conference in Manchester in the summer. I positively weep every time I see it.

Re: Canadian news media, which one to watch ?

Same, but with Radio 4 instead of the World Service. The only time I realy watch Canadian TV is when I'm at the dentist. It's usually marginally better than whatever is going on in my mouth.

Re: Flights to Ottawa from UK in January

I think you'll be waiting a while. You seem awfully defensive for someone who's got nothing to hide.
