Long shot! Better opportunities for autistic individual in USA?

This is probably a long shot on this forum but I'm curious and possibly someone who can offer some advice.

My stepdaughter-to-be is autistic and I'm in the process of comparing the resources and...

Change of Status, E-2 visa to EB-5 visa.

I will be emigrating to the US in the near future on the E-2 visa but I'd like to stay on in the US 'officially'.

Now, I could just go for the EB-5 visa but that's going to take time, so I'm...

How do you see the US in 5 years time?

How do you see the US in 5 years time, better or worse?

Will the positive attitude of Americans pull it out of post recession gloom or will day to day life continue to decline?

Does a future...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Once again, many thanks for all the posts to this thread.

I have to admit I am rethinking some of my plans.

I contacted an old friend who is a British expat living in LA who has now decided to...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Ah....I had read that new residents had to pay higher premiums because they had not accrued enough 'quarters' compared to a USC.

Hmmm. I can see maintaining my 'super healthy lifestyle' over in...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

I escaped bankruptcy by the skin of my teeth and rebuilt my business.

The UK is a negative 'put down' society full of layabouts, losers, spongers and doom merchants, it sweeps its history under...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

LOL. Yes, I'm an entrepreneur of some sort. I'm in the diamond jewellery business and I've had it all, lost it all, been homeless and started again from nothing so life in the US doesn't scare me.

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Okay.....Hmmmm *rubs chin*

So...if you met someone from the UK looking to emigrate to the US as they see it as a (possibly) better life, would you advise for or against?

Would you say "Give it...

Re: Anyone experienced EB-5 problems?

I've been told that it is better to go for a Regional Center that can guarantee job creation rather than make a return as the main condition of the EB-5 is direct and indirect employment for USC's.

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

A BBC TV North American Editor by the name of Justin Webb states:

" I think there is a kind of lazy assumption that America is like Britain, only slightly bigger. And when it turns out not to be...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Well....I'm always up for a challenge!

I've had it all, lost it all, been homeless, and started again from nothing, so I don't think there's much that the US can throw at me that will cause any...

Re: Anyone experienced EB-5 problems?

I'm guessing the EB-5 visa will largely stay unchanged and possibly return to a minimum investment of $500000 as this would stimulate more investor interest and more direct and indirect job creation...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

At the moment I have no children. I'm single and an only child with no surviving family and I'm not married. My reason for moving to the US IS for my children (future children). I'm an entrepreneur...

Re: Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Is the US still a dream worth pursuing?

Hi Everyone. ;)

Is a life in the USA still a dream worth pursuing or is it a bad idea now?

With various cutbacks in spending (health, education, etc) is it worth it?

I'm looking to emigrate...

Hi Everyone :)

I'll come straight to the point.

Has anyone applying for the EB-5 visa experienced any problems (serious or trivial)?
