Having just trawled through this thread, I am too! What Adrian describes is a great way to make money when you're "of no fixed abode", so to speak, but it takes time to get the hand of.

It seems so - of course they can charge what they want, but nowhere when we booked the tickets 3 months back were we told we HAD to print out our own boarding passes or face paying extra... I feel...

We booked in advance and travelled back to the UK with Jet2 the other week, and on arrival at Malaga airport they charged us 8 euros EACH to get a boarding card!

There is not one mention of this...

We use jajah (www.jajah.com) which is very similar to Skype but you use your normal phone... costs 2.5c/min to UK landlines from Spain. You log on, enter the number of the person you want to call,...

You can set up an "ad hoc" network with Windows as long as the PC the dongle is plugged into is always switched on (obviously!)

Roaming strikes me as one of the biggest rip-offs of them all, especially now it is more often than not THE SAME COMPANY your phone connects to when you go to another country... :thumbdown:
