Is that the same thing as a PR...

I think this is pretty optional. We did not include it in our application in 2009 as we had no relevant Canadian income.

One of the links in my signature is about dual intent entry. Worth...

Re: Live in caregiver PR application

Jim,

Does that mean she needs to get new PCs also from her country of origin, or is it only new PCs for countries she has spent more than 6 months in (namely Canada)?

Live in caregiver PR application

As part of the initial visa application as a live in caregiver, you need to do the PR medical and get police certificates from each country you have lived in.

My understanding was that you did not...

Please...

Re: How soon can I apply for my Canadian passport?

The border guards can look up that you are a Canadian.

And worst case, as a Canadian citizen you have a constitutional right to enter Canada, though it might take a while. Border guards know...

Re: do i need a canadian passport??

I assume your parents were not working for the Canadian government at the time of your birth.

If that was not true, then your new (congratulations!) child is not presently a citizen. But as JAJ...

Re: do i need a canadian passport??

I think people landing are always referred to secondary screening.

It always feels difficult because it is at the end of a long flight, but actually they are pretty quick and friendly.

Re: do i need a canadian passport??

The entering Canada part is easy with a Certificate of Canadian citizenship. I have done it repeatedly by land and arriving by air from Europe. You are guaranteed entry once you prove (through the...

Re: Given that one has an Open Work Permit...

Just to be 100% sure: The visa is for entering and exiting the country. So I could be in the country on a TWP which is valid, but the visa for travel to the country has expired. Presumably I can...

Are there conditions on a "open work permit" though? To me "open" suggests few conditions...

How does one renew the visa if that expires while you are in Canada on an TWP?

Re: Does CIC always carry out a police/background check?

The advice to be patient is very correct. There are lots of different things that need to be done by CIC. Depending on how complicated your situation is, it may go faster or slower.

But the...

Remember the...
