Default Spousal Sponsership - does sponser need valid passport

Hi all,

I Am gathering documents to send in with outland spousal sponsership application. Gf is born-canadian citizen and sponsoring me (UK citizen) We have just realised her passport has expired, do we need to include a copy of this in the pack as well as a birth cert copy.. is it going to be a problem that it has expired?

this application is very stressful.. so much to do!!
thanks.

It should not be a problem. If it is needed send a photocopy of the expired one.

Expired should be fine. Or a certificate of Canadian citizenship.

Why are you also sending a birth certificate?

Proof of Canadian citizenship is one of:
- passport
- certificate of Canadian citizenship
- (in some cases) Canadian birth certificate

You do not need to submit all three!
