Re: One way travel Insurance - Aus to UK

Sunderland myself but lived in Seaham for a couple of years too. Moving back to Sunderland too. It's not the football bringing me back that's for sure.

I will give them a call tonight and see what...

Re: One way travel Insurance - Aus to UK

Thanks mate that did look promising at first. Might need to ring them. The policy wording basically stated that you are OK if you do not originate your journey in UK once you are a British Citizen -...

Re: Moving back and school application

A different area but we just put our application through in our local authority for September 2017. It asked for address but not if we were council tax payers.

If you do not get an application in...

Re: Newbie Intro: Planning to move back - Brexit impact?

Well Brexit is buying me a car with the difference in the pre brexit AUD-GBP rate.

Did far too much ranting and raving about it back in June/July and considered staying. But now going for it and...

Re: Baby with Aus passport only

I had ended up sending it off but it was all back within 2 weeks anyway. Great service - compared to the pathetic process and astronomical cost they force on you in Australia anyway.

Re: Moving back to UK from oz. where to start?

We've had some quotes in for around $5000 for a shared container - our stuff is about 14ft in total - mostly boxes, some furniture and camping gear.

Re: Job Offer in Sydney Australia

Spot on.

We moan about the cost of living and rental costs here for bang ordinary places (but near the beach). But ultimately for most it's family that draws you home.

Baby with Aus passport only

Can't quite seem to find a definitive answer on this one so thought I'd throw it out.

My daughter will be 5 months old when we travel. Born in Aus but as I am a British citizen she would be too.

First quote in. For 14 cubic ft and 5500. That's with full pack. Have asked for what it would be to pack ourselves as it's not much.

Will get Grace in for a quote. Have also had a personal...

Hi

I did a search but nothing too recent came up. Just looking for any prices anyone has and recommendations for shipping companies to relocate from Sydney back to the UK?

I think we should...

Re: New member looking for advice

If you have an image of Australia as this un-pc white van man utopia then you're quite mistaken and will be sorely disappointed living here.

Re: Perth its going to be 😊

I was of course being rather facetious in that post. Surfers and the Gold Coast has its reason for being and not a bad place. But to try to place it above Sydney as a liveable city is a bit silly....

We're now starting to think about the move back after five years. Very similar to you in that we love 'home' and left for the adventure....
