Re: Vodafone contract cancellation?

Re: Vodafone contract cancellation?

Fantastic thanks Lorna. This is really helpful - I agree, surely if I tell them about the bank account closing they'll have to put it on my credit card! really there's no reason why they shouldn't,...

Re: Vague Business Idea - What do you think?

Thanks for the replies.

TestaRossa, that's very interesting, especially about the stuff for young kids. Not so interested in teaching teens - I can do that through my language school job anyway!...

Re: Vague Business Idea - What do you think?

Thanks for that Chris. There's not a lot of money in Sardinia (apart from the Costa Smerelda maybe!) so there might not be too much demand. There is however an English-speaking primary school here so...

Re: Recreation

Hah I can believe it! Neither my partner nor I drive, so we use the buses, which are fine but can get stuck in traffic. Central Cagliari is a nightmare for driving and parking I believe.

Re: Recreation

Hi Debra, hello again from the south of the island!

It's probably a bit different because we're renting, but my landlady handed us our first electricity bill the other day and told us to pay it at...

Re: Just another residency question...

Excellent lingo advice! I'll definitely have to bother at somepoint as I need regular prescription medication and I shouldn't really get it from the UK after 6 months away. (though Italian doctors...

thanks for all the good advice! Will try and get down there asap but sounds like it wouldn't be terrible if I didn't make it for a while!

I was upset at first to lose my books, then we set up a stall at our local market to sell some of them - all 50p, a ridiculously good bargain! Seeing people so happy to get a book...

Re: Joining the library in italy

I HIGHLY recommend investing in an e-book reader! My Sony e-reader is lighter and thinner than one book, and has memory for thousands. It cost £200, so quite an investment, but it's so nice not to...

Re: How can I get Internet in Abruzzo??

Are you just over for the summer? If so it could work out really expensive to get a dongle, as like TestaRossa said, most contracts are for 2 years.

We have a vodafone dongle which is unlimited...

Re: Freelance versus Permanent

Hi there

I think you need to ask yourself a few questions - how permanent is the move likely to be? And if you did work as a freelancer, do you think you can earn enough to live on?

You don't...
