Re: Going to Aussie? Think again...

"Don't come here, especially if you don't have a job, don't have money or a back-up plan if things don't work out"

I agree with the above statement. The job markets are extra tight over here (Oz)...

Re: Don't Dump you Animals to Emmigrate

Perhaps you misread my post...I said dogs can be taken to those areas.

Understandably dogs are going to be "restricted" or have rules in certain areas due to wild life, but thats completely...

Re: Don't Dump you Animals to Emmigrate

Guess it depends where you live maybe but I have never seen those kind of restrictions.

Obviously dogs are not allowed in childrens play parks but I have never seen them not allowed in the...

Re: Don't Dump you Animals to Emmigrate

I never noticed that "restriced where you can take them in simmer and winter" comment.

I never ever found that in NZ. You can take dogs pretty much anywhere....

You can take em to the park (and...

Re: Moving to Sydney - All Advice Needed!!!

Agree with this. We currently live in Five Dock and love it.

Bondi is not our cup of tea, too many people at the beach - touristy etc.

If you are coming without kids, I would either go Eastern...

Re: Car - which is best

We had a windom and they are very nice cars. Ours was quite old but man it was comfortable and so nice to drive.

Out of the cars listed above, I would personally go for the corolla - reliability...

Re: Moving to Sydney - All Advice Needed!!!

For renting, I would maybe look at google maps and the train network and perhaps get an idea of the proximity you want to live to the CBD.

I live in Five Dock which is not on the trainline. I...

Re: Moving to Sydney - All Advice Needed!!!

I would find a hostel once oyu get here. The rental market in Sydney is bloody ridiculous and you need to turn up for inspections often to even be able to apply for the house. Unless oyu can find a...

Re: Is it really the differences?

So as a percentage of weekly take home wages, I used to spend probably about 15-20% in NZ. In Oz I would consistently spend 30-35% of my weekly take home pay on food alone.

Luckily we are a two...

Re: Don't Dump you Animals to Emmigrate

Can I ask why you have chosen to sell your dog? Why not offer him free to a fantastic home that meets all the requirements?

He's not a second hand car.

Re: Don't Dump you Animals to Emmigrate

Moving overseas is a poor excuse for rehoming a "much loved family member" (a term which always seems to be included in the abandonment ad - so loved they are being left...

Re: Car - which is best

I had a 1990 Toyota Corona for 3 years and I never spent a cent on it except for new tyres and a battery. It spent 4 or 5 months parked on the front lawn because I...
