They do GED preperation courses, they might help.
It includes a huge GED book, loads of questions.
Or just go to Chapters and spend a little time going over it.

You should be able to take it as you are the one paying for it and secondly
it's not a corse that you will attend at the expense of a PR or...

I would second that!
Gatwick is not that bad, in fact i think it's a great airport. From the gate to collecting bag and then boarding the train can be less than 30 minutes upon arrival.
