It was Melbourne... I had the second stage visa granted at.. but it does take a while and like I said a lot of paper work as proof of your intention to stay here in Australia and be a good citizen....

Good luck.. I got my permanent visa yesterday after two years of a lot of paper work...thought I would never get there... next step is citizenship.as I love being here.!!

Great for a holiday in the UK.. but no great if you have a UK pension paid in pounds over here..I am losing money quick..but nothing I can do about..

I am expecting a bankers draft..in Pounds.. but the thing is that I will lose so much converting it into dollars..I have no bank account in the UK now .. but will be going there for three weeks in...

You can find JP.s at most libraries as I will have to get my passports and documents signed tomorrow.. My partner is one . but not allowed to sign my items, for obvious reasons. Hope it helps.;)

Thanks I downloaded the forms and will get that organised but do I still have to have the AFP one filled in as well or does this ACRO

Thanks for that. I have read the forms and it says I have to provide a passport photo signed by a person who has known me for a minimum of two years.. but I have been out here in OZ for 14 months....

Thank you so much for your replies.. They were most helpful. I have now heard from the pensions office and my pension is 4 weeks in arrears. so roll on the 20th of July.. :D

I am a pensioner by Uk standards but not it would seem by Australian law. I have tried to get a concession card but have been told I do not qualify for one. Can I not get anything discounted .. I .e....
