We were thinking 'no' as well. Then we read another page, and it seemed to make out that we did need a visa! :unsure:

I've already had a working holiday visa (11 years ago!) so as us Brits can only get one of those then we won't be going that route.

As OH is a welder he would qualify under welder first class, or...

I didn't explain my self very well! What I meant to say was what about getting a Newfoundland? They don't roam far, and seem to stay on 'their' property. Not sure about their sheep guarding...

If you are married you don't have to live together for a year before you can apply. As soon as you are married you can apply. I believe you still need to send in proof of your relationship though.

Do you have your red seal? To work (and get paid the rate) as a journeyman welder I believe you need this to work in Alberta. Otherwise you'll just be a welders helper and there are plenty of helpers...

Your girlfriend can't attend a course when she is on a visitors visa. Plus she may not get 6 months. It's up to the border officer how long she gets.

Remember that your LMO may take just as long. And tack on time to apply for and get your TWP (unless you do a flagpole run.)

Your PR may come through quicker than your TWP.
