Re: Travel Insurance for outside EU

FWIW. I made a claim earlier this year after having to cancel a trip to Asia due to managing to give myself a hernia. They wanted a lot of documentation regarding bookings, doctors recommendations....

Re: Travel Insurance for outside EU

You don't have to declare pre-existing conditions. But if you make a claim as a result of a pre-existing condition then it will be denied. So it depends on what conditions you have and whether you...

Re: Travel Insurance for outside EU

Few years ago we had to abandon a trip to South America and return home as my wife had a bad case of dysentery requiring several days in hospital. Staysure were great and settled our £6,000 plus...

Re: Travel Insurance for outside EU

We used to take an annual policy with Staysure, but now we are pensioners with a couple of preconditions they have become expensive. Not as expensive as other companies we have had quotes from, but...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Setup works well for me. The downside of the firestick is limited memory which cannot be expanded with an SD card. So downloading from Prime or Nexflix to view offline isn't an option.

Limited...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

TBH have virtually zero experience of Apple stuff, but what you describe looks easy enough.

I slso watch TV on a large screen, which happens to also be smart, but I only use it as a display fed...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Gonna have to disagree with your final statement. Absolutely DNS redirection is a better solution for UK TV on whatever your chosen platform is as there is no impact on your data rate.. I use...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Not quite sure of the point you're trying to make here. The internet is and always has been awash with free propietary and open source software. Linux is a fine example, PGP encryption another,...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Didn't mean to make it sound as it had to be advanced. Just illustrating that there are drawbacks with a VPN of any flavour which you may or may not be able to configure around. Windscribe, as does...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Both get great reviews as solid secure vpn offerings, as do many others. Windscribe has more options should you wish to use them. Eg I set up a few apps in their Split Tunnel. Amazon Prime Video for...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

These two are not free vpns as such. They are commercial product which allow you a subset of their paid product at no cost. There is a huge difference.

Having said that Nord is a good option,...

Re: best VPN for an idiot

Proton is a good freevpn.unlimited data, but limited to the choice of servers you can connect to unless you subscribe. Great option if you simply want to obfuscate your actual address. Not so great...

Re: Has the Firestick geo changed.

Been using Teeveeing, ex TVMucho on a firestick for a number of years. Does what it says on the box. Main UK channels, no vpn/dns needed, epg, and 7 day catchup. Easy to use and decent value.

Re: PG Tips

Russels in Torrox have a good range of english tea types. Relatively exoensive as is the case with most expat foodstuff. We switched to teabags from Dunnes. Cheap and an excellent substitute for PG,...

Re: UK tv

Stopped using my android box some time, now doing everything tv related on a 4kMax Firestick. Integrates way better into my home cinema setup. Integration with Alexa makes it far more convenient.

Re: UK tv

You don't need VPN to watch UK tv. Often providors like iplayer will block vpn access as 99 times out of 100 its an expat from somewhere accessing the service. An altenative, and preferable solution ...

Still using the new...

Another option which...
