They love indulging in it but also sneer at it (any culture not Khaleeji) . A classic case of hypocrisy. Most cultures are hypocritic on major societal views but the Gulf takes it to a level that only a few other regions can match.

The casual observer will not be able to tell apart a Pakistani and probably 70 % of Saudis but if you ever mistake a Saudi for Pakistani (someone of their own religion), you will never hear the end of how "we are different".

Yes. But we must also realize that many do not sneer at it. Maybe that is less visible, as usually that which displeases gets more attention than what does not.
