Re: Friday Mornings in the UAE...
Hi,
maybe I can a bit revive this thread a bit...
As posted already elsewehere, did sign a contract and am now preparing to come over to Dubai soon.
Am also a runner, did participate last year in my first half marathon in Hong Kong. OK, but am not really world class with my personal record for this distance is just over 1:50 (achieved this year in March in Manila). Did rund three more HM in Germany, but the hills here did dwarf my efforts to achieve a better PR..
Am quite happy with my Brooks Adrenaline GTS shoes, is there a way to get them in the UAE? Or shall I rather bring an extra pair before coming over, especially as prices may be higher in Dubai?
Other question... As Ramadan is approaching, is it a problem to do run outside (well, anyway it is a problem due to temperature, but did start running in the Philippines which is also not a very cool country), wearing shorts...? Or is it advisable during this time to stay in a gym?
@Commander: Am sure you know the list of running events from the Dubai Road Runners (while waiting for the reply from the embassy, I guess I have too much time surfing the internet...). But maybe a help for others... Did not expect there are so many running events in the UAE!
Greetings from Germany
