I used to commute morning and night Ladbroke Grove to Old Street stright through Central London on a Trek Hybrid. Loved it and kept so fit.

You had to be in control and hyper aware of all other road users.

The number of near death experiences are too many to many to mention. Twice ended up on bonnets that just pulled out. However the greatest danger, one rare in Dubai, was pedestrians. They just walk blindly out. So many near misses...

If there were cycle tracks here I would do it again. Even in summer.

You should do it, like I said, most of the accidents out here are caused by cyclists showing off and not respecting the rules of the road.

But yea auto, near death experiences are often, I kinda 'expect' a vehicle to come out in front of me and treat it as a bonus when it doesn't..

I couldn't live without my bike, trainers, trunks and goggles..and my soon to arrive polar..

same as in the toon, students with ipods on and big hoods who walk out in front of you, a mate had to avoid one and hammered into a wall head first, luckily he had a helmet on.

Bloody students.

But aye, I'd love to get a bike again.
