If you are referring to the sneakers post, I am advised that it signifies a territorial boundary.

You know you're back in the UK when.............you can work in the garden without any real fear of being bitten by some poisonous nasty beastie.

Yes, very true indeed. I love creepy crawlies but they did make gardening interesting sometimes

In Australia it's a sign for a dogging gathering, he's pretending he doesn't know.

We're they anything like the four days of rioting that cost hundreds of millions of pounds to repair?

Better riots in the UK by far.

Cheeky bugger! (a Cornish word - expression of endearment). Set London community police relations back a decade or so apparently.

In NZ they say that they signify a nearby 'Tinnie House' AKA a gang house where tinnies are sold. (A tinnie being a wrap / packet of drugs).

Isn't that the truth. There's a thread on the US forum about Amazon US delivery times, and I have to say that Amazon UK seems to deliver in no time, even if you don't select the special delivery options.

Or just be in your kitchen without seeing hideous creatures the size of your hand. Slight exaggeration (not quite that big) but I got so sick of the giant bugs in New York. Our whole neighborhood was overrun by what they called Palmetto bugs but which just means big cockroaches. If the Terminix man didn't come quite often enough you'd walk into your kitchen and see a giant one sitting on the counter staring at you. UGH!

LOVE Amazon UK. The post here is amazing.
