I found out during my uni days that newspaper makes a really bad substitute for bog roll. Wouldn't recommend it.

Judging by the number of times it gets quoted on BE, I'd say "not any time soon".

My Mum loves it, because my brother and I tell her it's rubbish she now says that she only buys it for the crossword

I was on the very cutting edge of Wishful Thinking there, wasn't I?

I asked my mum to send me out a bunch of crossword books a while back, because I missed a UK style crossword and lo and behold, she sent out a bunch of Daily Mail ones

I hide them behind my Daily Telegraph ones she had previously sent, in case a random Brit ever walks into my house.

Not sure the flag of St. George would go down too well in my neighbourhood.

Report from 'Shelter' on housing affordability throughout the UK. I can't see it getting any better unless there is a huge increase in house building ( possible ) a huge increase in wages ( doubtful ) less demand ( very doubtful ).

It must be very difficult for young people to get on the housing ladder these days, certainly more difficult than in my day. Baby boomers really had the best of times.

I thought this was why the goverment had brought in loan guarantees so that first time buyers only had to find a deposit of 5%.

It should work as something of a stop-gap but the UK is desperately short of affordable housing stock.

It has thousands of boarded up houses, many of which could be renovated and used, OK they are not in the leafy suburbs, but most of them would make great starter homes.
