OVER 50's+ MOVING BACK TO THE UK - Part II

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK.
Having just read all 1,274 pages, I couldn't find this question so was wondering if anyone happens to know........
If you split your time between England and the US in retirement, what is the minimum amount of time you need to spend in each country to qualify for residency?
Assuming you have a house, boat, caravan or large bin in both countries in which to live.
Also assuming one spouse is dual nat and the other is a USC.
Many thankings.

If you have this many assets in both countries, wouldn't you be better off paying a professional for advice? You wouldn't want to rely on information off a forum from "amateurs" and get it wrong and be up for all kinds of penalties.

Well what has that to do with houses, cars, caravans and boats LOL!!
Is it an American thing? My bin is bigger than yours.
Oh and welcome Poppycat, are you on the trail back home too? Tell us a wee bit about yourself, only if you want to of course.

I wish we got a bit of snow here in Sydney now and again! I would run outside and catch some snowflakes like a kid!

A second earthquake just hit the north of England. This time the epicenter was Ripon (north of Leeds).

I know 3.6 isn't huge but still ... if they don't stop happening, my husband is going to start changing his mind
