OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK.

Now I'm not really sure but think it is a wireless modem that you plug into your usb and it works like broadband. Can be done as pay as you go or you can get it on contract. I probable wrong as I am quite hopeless at this kind of stuff. It could be small hamsters running on a very big wheel
PS buy an electric blanket. I wouldn't be without one - roasty toasty
PPS I should tell you that when I popped over to PEI from New Glasgow, NS the landscape reminded me very much of my old home in Aberdeenshire. I drove from Wood Green to Charlottetown, and was astonished at the similarity of the countryside

I think you might mean Wood Island if you came on the ferry, which will be finished in about a month for the season. I'm a little wary about electric blankets, my parents had one and every time I would touch my mom I could feel the hum of the electric blanket, or maybe that was just her, though I am sure they are much better than they were 40 some years ago.
Yes, actually the other side of the island is much prettier than that side, around Cavendish and North Rustico, wonderful in the summer. Thanks for the congrats, it was wonderful waking up warm and toastie and having a coffee while watching the sun come up. It was frosty but very beautiful sparkling in the sunlight. Decided to take some of my old jewellery you know the stuff you never wear or the catch is broken and I was so surprised I got £150.00, so decided to do a good shop and get myself a treat, a small bottle of Baileys and a orchid plant. Tonight, coffee with Baileys the perfect end to a great day.
Took the landladys small dog for a walk this evening, so I am begining to feel relaxed and much more like myself. Also spoke with husband on MSN last night had not trouble with audio/video, so I am very happy with my "dongle", sounds kind of kinky to me but maybe I 've been away from hubby too long.

Sorry everyone, worked all day yesterday at the dog grooming parlour, was tired by the time I got home. Friend dropped of two outside lounge chairs so I can sit outside on my small deck and my employer brought a CD player for me to borrow. Spoke with my husband and had really bad news, his aunt had fallen while working in the backyard in Winnipeg and had hit her head and passed away. She was a wonderful person, and we were wishing that we both could be there for her funeral.
Today stayed home went on internet to check jobcentre etc. and sent out a few CV's. It was a beautiful day warm and sunny, walked around with just sweater on, got a little cool in the evening. Hubby nudging me so will come back on later. Well had a nice MSN visit with hubby, wish we were together, but will be soon. Have to take some kind of Job hunting course next Wednesday for the Jobcentre. I am not sure they know what to do with people who have good creditials and experience. You are sort of the round peg in a square hole syndrome, they did send me to a company that they use to help people put together CV's, I thought this would be a good idea as mine was so North Americanized. Thought they would show me how to do it instead they had me write out information and they were suppose to do it up for me and e-mail it to me. When I got it back it was full of mistakes and spelling and information and was a complete waste of time, so just went and did it up myself. Just think they probable got paid £200 for my CV.

Right Im teaching in Istanbul at the moment but would dearly like to return home to the UK. Unfortunately I cant because I have no place to return to.
So does anyone on here have any suggestions as to how to return to the UK and resume my life there?
Im all researched out at the moment.

They both arraigned a rental from abroad so they had somewhere to go to on arrival.

Most of us on this forum have been or are in the same boat that you are in. You do have two grown children back in UK, can you not stay with them for a few weeks until you find a flat to live in. Can you secure a teaching position before coming back and then go on internet home rental sites and look for flat to live in in the area you are going to work in. Where are you planning on moving back too.

Hi everyone,
Well things are really looking up, my landlady approached me this afternoon she is opening up a new business in the next two weeks and was wondering if I would be interested in working for her. It is working as a escort for elderly people who wish to attend weddings, go out for dinner, attend appointments etc. This business has been in the planning stages for the past two years, so I am very excited. She is willing to pay for a number of driving lessons so that I can feel comfortable driving over here, so this accomplishes many of my goals.
I am settling quite nicely in my flat and I am very comfortable, it is much better than I could of planned and enforces my belief that sometimes your plans are not the ones you will end up with.

Yes, I think you might be right, was just sitting having a glass of wine and looking around the flat and feeling of utmost feeling of contentment, yes there are still things that have to be done, but I have made it this far and it was a difficult 7 weeks, hard to believe that it was 7 weeks tonight that I left Halifax and where I am today.
