The police report site is a good one. Tenbury Wells seems to have very little crime ... I think there were 20 something reports in August. That's less than one a day. The main crime was anti-social behaviour ... "Hey you with big nose!"

.
Tenbury Wells is a lovely place, we are going through it tomorrow on the way to the West Midlands Safari Park, those crime stats look like crime spree compared to our village but yes 20 a month is virtually nothing.
As you allude to anti social behaviour could be literally anything.

Man, I can't imagine not knowing where County Durham is! Beautiful part of the country and full of kind and funny people. If I had relatives there I'd be up there in a flash.

Yup thanks Pistolpete2!

Best thing about geograph is the way it is keyed to Ordnance Survey grid squares.. really allows you to follow a footpath or cycle route to see photos, or look at just one neighbourhood in a city (if you're looking at property for instance.)

On the topic of maps, on this one zoom in on any place to see the risk of flooding:

There's a lot I could say about this but I'll try to put it succinctly.

More than just a victory for Totnes, this is a victory for people who are not prepared to go along with the usual bunch of sheep (apologies to real sheep) and who are not afraid to stand up for their local communities. These are not radicals, but people who have seen how the ubiquitous spread of bland corporate establishments has killed the unique individuality of towns across our nation and created lop-sided corporate control of governments.

Way to go, Totnes!

They should start a "Keep Totnes Weird" campaign:

This is an excellent thread! Ought to bump it up a bit since it is a frequent topic of conversation and it shouldn't get hidden

OK, you got me.

I have been thinking of reviving this thread as I have been very actively monitoring properties in the Cotswolds. Prices are definitely going down. I receive daily updates from Rightmove and am amazed at a) the number of new listings and b) the number of price reductions. From this end I find it quite encouraging.

Cheers, shall definitely be expecting a full report after your trip home.

As it turned out, I think that most of the property and areas that were looked at on this thread were west of a line from North Herefordshire down through The Malvern Hills, Gloucestershire and West Wiltshire to the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. This zone went as far as Totnes and Torquay in Devon but nobody seemed that interested in Cornwall because it was too remote for most tastes and particularly those who wanted to spend some time in London.

I also think that at the time, most of us were looking to buy. With the passage of time and a stagnant property market, to say the least, most are probably now looking to rent, certainly for the time-being. Funnily enough, I would guess that in most of this zone, above, the renter tends to be better off than a buyer in terms of value these days.
