I'm not keen on the countryside of Lincolnshire, though properties there are more affordable than south of London. My sister lives in a 12 room Victorian house in a village near Lincoln, a nice enough house with a big garden, but there didn't seem to be any direct public transport from Lincoln to anywhere.

I now see . . . http://www.rail.co/2011/03/03/east-c...ln-and-london/ "We hope the new services will be welcomed by Lincoln’s residents, who from 22 May, can start to enjoy the benefits of a direct train service with London"

There's always this one in West Compton

Though I don't recall ever seeing a non-London semi for 400,000 pounds, particularly with a downstairs bathroom.

There are several BE posters who only want to do three months a year in the UK so it would be a lot easier to do a fractional.

The only problem is that the only things we have in common are that we are British Expats and we are thinking of moving back. We would need to dig a lot deeper first.

... although if I had that kind of money, I would only be pottering in my studio or the garden.

I don't think that place is marked right on the map. Did anyone else check the map?
