Lincoln does have a station, with links to London and Nottingham, and regular buses to other lincolnshire towns and to other main towns. Lived just outside for my childhood years and for a few months last year. Also lived in Lincolnshire all my working life..

I based my comments from what I was told when staying with my sister and her husband near Lincoln, and also trying to find a 'direct' journey between Lincoln and London myself.

I now see . . . http://www.rail.co/2011/03/03/east-c...ln-and-london/ "We hope the new services will be welcomed by Lincoln’s residents, who from 22 May, can start to enjoy the benefits of a direct train service with London"

Also . . . http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/...s/Lincoln.aspx

Times are changing

If I could afford to buy number 1, I'm thinking I might be able to afford to pay someone to help maintain it

What! You can't afford it?

There's always this one in West Compton

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-...-29652910.html

Though I don't recall ever seeing a non-London semi for 400,000 pounds, particularly with a downstairs bathroom.

We could use this forum to set up a timeshare on it!

Oh the power of the internet!
Actually, this has crossed my mind also, would certainly be nice to share the expenses...

The only problem is that the only things we have in common are that we are British Expats and we are thinking of moving back. We would need to dig a lot deeper first.

There are several BE posters who only want to do three months a year in the UK so it would be a lot easier to do a fractional.

Oh absolutely, I was just dreaming. But a timeshare would be a practical solution for many of us.

I find it strange that it is referred to as a cottage. And as for being a semi, I must wonder if the house was divided.

Well I'm not really a Georgian fan and Holt had me going until I saw photos of the town, but Wareham... you've got me there!

I was thinking more of the time to arrange for all the maintenance services, rather than the money. Is this how I want to spend my time? Not really.

... although if I had that kind of money, I would only be pottering in my studio or the garden.

Gorgeous. Timeshare? Well what an eclectic mix that would be.

I don't think that place is marked right on the map. Did anyone else check the map?
