Speak for yourself. And check a dictionary if you're in doubt about
the meaning of "racism."

Ohhhh yeah OK I said black, well its the direct translation from my language
Should I say "colored"?
Anyway I would have thought real travellers could understand the differences
in languages and the fact that non US citizens don't always write and talk
like people in kansas...
I said black and I meant people with darker skin than others.
And those well thinking people should turn their tongue 7 times inside their
mouths before accusing others of anything.
And just why should we talk to you in perfect US english on a europe group
where we try to help you???

Thanks. I had a great time. And to you, enjoy calling the entire human
race "racist, whatever that is," since that seems to make you feel
good.

Look, if you don't understand that writing that "the black quarter" of
DC is dangerous is a racist statement, I hope you take a clue from my
responses and learn that it is. You may not be a racist, and I'll take
your word for it, but you did make a statement that was both stupid
and - whether intentionally or unintentionally - racist.

Are you aware that DC is 70% black? So at the very best, it's a highly

Writing "the black quarter of DC is dangerous" is not racist, it's a safety
related observation.
The racist tag you love to throw around is meaningless.

You are on a group about Europe...
So there are a few europeans on it too
Of course , US english is NOT their mother tongue
I suppose you think your language is the language of the world
Sooo if you're not tolerant, hard luck!
Your accusations are appalling and I think the person must be too!
And in reality I don't care what is racist or not : black, colored, negroe
or I dunno what.
I still live in a free world , it seems not the case for you...
So you be very picky about the words YOU use, I'm just a poor, ignorant
foreigner.
Bye bye now!

The "proper" term changes (sometimes from day to day). There was a time
when "black" was considered an insult, and "negro" was the proper word.
Then the correct word was "colored", then it revolved back to "black"
again - now I think the politically correct term is "Afro-American" (but
that may change, tomorrow).

Which is why most of us see no reason to criticize spelling and grammar,
here (unless the poster is American - they SHOULD know their own
language, but often do not). Whatever errors our European posters may
make, they are posting intelligibly in what is for them a foreign
language. Comparatively few Americans are able to do the same in any
European language.
