Both EUR 10 more than Block.

Block had 10% off their already discounted price.
I got the same using my in depth knowledge of Dutch.
I guess you know why Dutch often have silly surnames?
De Block problem is solved. They asked me to phone them, I thought it was so
that they could sell me extra insurance, but now I think it was so that they
could check on my authenticity. Every time I got through somebody appeared to
put the phone down, as soon as they had the details about why I phoned. The
third time round I got somebody who asked why I kept putting the phone down on
them.
Clever approach!

Good plan - best to avoid facts when you're keen to maintain your
prejudices.

I based my prejudices on facts, namely the prices I have seen in
store.
A wireless Mac mouse was around 60 euro while a comparable PC one was
about half that.
A top end Mac laptop was around double the price of the best PC laptop
there.
In fact, I haven't seen anything yet that was cheaper in Macland than
PCland, hardware wise.
Help me out here.

Something else that won't run on a Mac

Sure:
The comparison was akin to claiming that 10 £ = $10 = 10 €.
Just because things might *look* the same to the casual observer
doesn't mean that they actually are the same.

The purchasing power is about the same for all three?

Why suuuuure they are!
since the Apple had two Xeon Woodcrest CPU's, the analogy would need
to be two me two 10 £ notes vs $10 or 10 €.
So if you think that's a good value, just mail to me two 10 £ notes
and in return, I'll mail you back your "same value" in the form of one
$10 bill.
And please do it soon; I have a trip to UK coming up fairly soon :-)

I own a PC that is more than adequate for what I do. It can run all the fancy 3D
graphics my architect son produces.
It is more than 4 years old. It has never had a problem. That is what I call
good value. The PC was made by Dell of course.
I have absolutely no intention of buying the latest innovation on the market of
anything, ever.
