Because I often inadvertently press the Caps Lock key instead of/as well
as the Shift key. I never actually use Caps Lock, so it's handy to be
able to get rid of it :-)

I asked a similar question in another post earlier this week.
My old 300Mhz PC with Win98 was adequate for most things.

Something to do with the layout of the keys
or the size of your fingers?
I can't recall ever doing it. It's why I asked.
Some women have problems with the space bar, but that is another story.

You use a program to change the registry, or change it manually -
changing the registry isn't a hack, it's just how windows manages its
configuration, in a large database called the registry.

Go see them perform live, or give the money to buskers. Live music is
what it all used to be about once upon a time, and I much prefer to
see live music than to listen to it on the radio etc.

An awful lot of the money misses the artists, and goes into the
coffers of the industry itself.

I don't have a problem with Macintosh making a better machine at a
higher cost, but their attitude, and that of many of their staunch
supporters is really petty.

It takes a fair confident user to go into the registry though. It's
not the place where you just change things willy nilly!
BTW, I'm off to google to figure out how to do this.

The F keys are in a bit of an awkward place though. What I was
thinking of was a set of keys away from the others that you could
easily find with your fingers without looking away from the screen.
The other point about the Caps Lock key is also good. Just how many
people use the thing? I bet it's not nearly the number that make a
mess by accidently tapping the thing.
Finally, the stupid Fn key that exists on most laptops and some PCs.
Why the hell does it occupy a prime location, and why do manufacturers
insists on sometimes putting on the left, and sometimes on the right
of the Ctrl key (which is actually of great value)?

registry before you go changing things.

Reading some of the more obnoxious contributions to this thread and

to tell the truth.
