Hi Jenny, welcome!
Have you seen the Dutch proposals for charging cars using motorways?
Frightening!
I looked at the comments in the Volkskrant on the Begina charges
http://www.volkskrant.nl/economie/article386952.ece/Belgisch_wegenvignet_is_discriminerend

I was quoting the answering machine.
Maybe the Oz embassy in London has gone too? :-)
http://www.australian-embassy.nl/thag/1.html
"Visa - Important Notice
The Australian Embassy in The Hague no longer processes, issues or evidences
visas. This is now done by the Visa Services Section at the Australian Embassy
in Berlin."
The Oz embassy is still in the Hague but the lights are out?

No. But it does seem reasonable to direct dutch
'customers' to Germany.

Reminds me of a tour I did years ago.
Dutch coach and driver Frankfurt Flughafen - Heidelberg - Freiburg -
Luzern - Paris - Calais. Great guy: knowledgeable, funny, great with
the customers....was really sad to say farewell at Calais. Took the
ferry across to Dover as foot passengers..English coach to London for
a couple of days and group returned to the USA via LHR.
Phoned the Dutch driver at home as soon as I arrived in London, just
to see that he'd got home OK. "Yes", he said, "I'm back safely."
"How did you get on driving back through Belgium?"
"Oh, no problem at all - I just did what the locals do...closed my
eyes for three hours." :-)

1) diverting via Germany will save money as you need to drive 75kph to
see the badly placed signs
2) discrimination, I've got my own business and I'll have to charge my
Belgian clients more.
3) thank **** no more ****ing caravans travelling south (some poetic
