First beer I drank was a Wahrsteiner. There was a little pub just up the road from the school I went to in Hamm (Germany). The landlord used to let the 5th and 6th formers use his back room and pretended he didn't know we shouldn't be there. Some secret - I bet all the teachers knew where we were.

When we go to the Canaries on holiday we always look for a German bar for decent beer. Don't know why when they are so close to Portugal but the Spaniards can't brew a decent beer.

Is it me or are there more and more people complaining about their PT lives these days?

i,m not sure, i,m not moaning about my life whatsoever, just the same as evryone else could do with a little more finance thats all, but thats the same where ever i was?
I have noticed a couple of posts where people seem not to be able to cope with the way things work here or feel they are being treated differently because they are non-pt, but we all have the option to quit and return if we want.....but not me , i,m gonna persist and eventually come out the otherside

Im not complaining........however.
Its not all roses,the euro rate is affecting us badly,as we rely on the exchange rate.I dont think we could have survived if we were still living in the Algarve,thank goodness we moved at the right time.
We have been here 4 years now,not long i suppose,but long enough to get over the "honeymoon" period,and realise that it is not a perfect place to live.BUT where is??? we would all be there wouldnt we?

There are a few frustrations here,but generally nothing to put me off,plus I am now sooooo laid back compared to my "previous life"I dont let anything get to me like i used to.
The quality of life here is,in my opinion 100% better,for me anyway

I think its good that people air some of their grieviences, as cleri says "its not all a bed of roses", then at least it gives a more rounded impression to those looking to move out here, some of the problems are still there but you do seem more able to deal with them in a calmer way

Thats right,too many people think that moving abroad is an answer to all the problems!
