I found the recipe for 'Cricket/Golf Cake' at last, so I do hope at least one of you will try it, even you Cleri....
4oz Margarine
6oz Soft Brown Sugar
14oz of Mixed fruit (your choice)
8fl.oz water
1 level tsp. Bicarbonate Soda
1 heaped tsp. Mixed Spice
2 beaten eggs
4oz Plain Wholemeal Flour
4oz SR Flour, white
Pinch Salt
****************************
1. Place marg',fruit,bicarb',water & spice in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 1 minute.
2. Line an 8" round or 7" square tin with greased, greaseproof paper.
3. Add eggs,flours & salt to cooked mixture, mix well. Pour into tin and bake in centre of oven Gas 4-350ºF for approx. 1¼ hours.
Bloody yummy.

Can't say I'm bowled over by it. 
See it every day in my line of work - especially in the winter when all the little darlings have got colds - green nostril juice everywhere. Yuk (where is the smilie for Yuk?)

,soooooooo hot had a dip in pool,first this year ,shower,then to the bar,with the butcher,oh hub was there too Got to do a second coat tomorrow
