Free rice for a group of workers already doing quite well. It can't boost domestic production. Will take their minds off the high inflation in basic foods, shore up his support. Without any answers to that he looks to impress with foreign trips and an inappropriate sovereign wealth fund.

Going to be overwhelmed with requests as people stop using existing local help. Then it will be seen as useless and backfire on him.
He can't stop ordering new projects seemingly without consulting widely on them first.

Now BBM has been in the position a year an update needed on what we think so far.
On the plus side I have been pleased and quite surprised with his much more robust stance against China and greater defence ties with the US. Though he keeps on pretending they won't affect economic relations with China..
Looks much more "presidential" than the last guy....though that wasn't difficult!
Some sensible decisions on covid too.
But domestically his government continues to look a bit chaotic. Some good cabinet appointments but three big positions unfilled with permanent full time appointments. Him popping in and out of the DA has probably made things worse.
The sovereign wealth fund? The Norway of SE Asia? Laughable! May well back fire on him in a few years. Some Senators not happy, but the "Super Majority" politics started with the last president and continuing in a lesser way now will push it through.
The great majority of Philippine OFWs caught up in the Sudan civil war recently didn't want to be repatriated. I don't see anything that will change that thinking being started by BBM in his first year.
Last, he seems to me to be enjoying it all a little too much. He and his supporters may work it so he can stand again after 5 more years.
