It did not take long, JP Morgan has now put Philippines in last place in Asia for foreign investments

For those of you unfamiliar with vote buying in elections here do look up this Inquirer piece. It may already be in your Google news or just search:

" Vote buying spree drives mobile phone sales"

Using a phone and don't know how to do the link to it

Looks like it will be reactive administration rather than a proactive one. Marcos has had a pretty good idea that he was going to win for the last 3 months but this week he has just started to look for candidates to lead his economic managers. Sort of would have expected these guys to have been lined up months ago.

The President elect was not known for his diligent work ethic when he was a Senator.

BBM was only a governor, his sister is the senator.

On vacation now in Oz. When he should be face to face with cabinet applicants. Plenty of businessmen eyeing positions. Expect to see some appointed as part time Czars.

His father was ok with most things as long as there was a flow of money for him out of it, but the son must be overloaded with family dosh so no need to replicate that thinking.

There is a story that has been going round for decades that a British reporter asked Imelda where all her wealth came from, she answered "Mining", a very brave/foolish Philippine reporter said "Thats correct, that's mine, that's mine and that's mine", he was never seen again.

By all reports Marcos was pretty decent, it was Imelda that was the power behind the thrown. The boyfriend of a cousin of my wife who is from Hawaii was part of his security detail when they were exiled to Hawaii. He said that Marcos himself was a nice guy but Emelda a complete bitch.

So far we know little of BBMs ideas on policy.
But his VP has some, according to an ally:

uh oh

davao death squads repeated nationally called the drugs war

how much nationalism did daddy duterte have when offering up the jet ski navy to defend the west philippines sea from china?

wonder how the acumen of davao has been measured and what the recognised methodology is or was

having people properly fed and with good heath care does tend to be a better option when schooling is measured.....nothing new there einstein
