And cheers for the update Mark, much appreciated.
Last night was completely nuts - 4 or 5 massive explosions one after the other that made the house vibrate. It seemed like it was coming from the camel farm area but others have said Diraz/Bani Jamrah were up to their old tricks again. I always wondered about those camels though, they just look disloyal to me.

A decent military source told me it's time to batten down the hatches for a week or so...once the report comes out and Ashura begins it will be a case of hold on to your seats, here we go again......

Agree; the police have set up a semi permanent road block in Jid Haffs near the international hospital and are going to seal off Jidd Haffs from Burger land roundabout. Looks like it is going to get serious again, Sky news hyping up a bit of alleged torture this morning. The disloyal are managing to manipulate the news rather successfully

The problem when it gets windy is that we seem to get teargas blown into the compound. If the "explosions" last night were sound grenades (any ideas yet?) then I would prefer that to teargas. I'm sure the "sound grenade vs teargas - which is your favourite?" debate is going on at all the best dinner parties in Saar these days....

I think it would depend on whether I was trying to disperse a group of disloyals in which case teargas or whether I wanted to incapacitate a small group of disloyals prior to giving them a well deserved re-educating back in the cells in which case a stun grenade every time for me.

We are lucky with the prevailing winds that they blow towards Casa Ronnies and not this way plus you are relatively close to Quarrayah which as we know is full of people desparate and crying out for re-educating

For the first time saw a lot of graffiti in Saar written in English saying some rather disrespectful things about the King. Good time to be a paint supplier in Bahrain. All that lot will require over painting

oh and no idea about whether they were sound grenades or gas bombs as wasnt here until 0300.

The wife who admittely is not a munitions expert reckons they were gas bombs and to be honest she is pretty good at spotting these days.

I am about to run out of beer unless BMMI can get their act together and get the beer man in a van on the road so if dry I will keep an ear out tonight should they venture out which I doubt.

Some of my staff are calling it Black Wednesday for tomorrow, and are right up for a stonking weekend of trouble, but they are a bit peeved that a lot of the journalists are going to go straight on to Cairo

How inconsiderate I thought of the Egyptians to start trouble again!!

GDN reports 40 Gas cylinder bombs 2 nights ago.

Ma'ameer disloyal rioting at 06.20 this morning. Tyres burning, RBs being fired. They must have got up early with the journalists only in town for one more day.

BICI report released on line at 5 pm. www.bici.org.bh I think

Only a few hours to go before the report on police and government action during the unrest and the police have rammed into a protester in his car and killed him this morning in A'ali, the police are now clashing with protesters at the scene.

The police choose their moments don't they, this will not help matters for the next few days that is for sure.

Mrs went into the red zone to pick kiddy up from nursery at lunchtime. Road by dilmun blocked by burning tyres, Bud highway blocked by burning tyres.

Sitra filling with Police at a rate of knots this afternoon so who knows

Mark, on the balance of probabilities it is probably not a good day to come to Sitra for a meeting

I need

So far, so quiet in Barbar / Diraz area ... Funnily enough, quietest it has been for days ... Guess all the disloyals are tucked up at home, out of the wind and chilly weather, closely studying the intricacies the 501 page BICI report, that is now online!!!! Tomorrow, however, could get interesting.

considering the report seems to be supporting a lot of the claims made by the disloyals we'll have to see what happens i guess. the king was quickly out in the media stating that people would be punished and that the results would be used to reform the country..

i predict that nothing major will change. the disloyals will continue rioting and the security forces will have to continue cracking down on them. the government will then use the disturbances as an excuse to delay reforms...

just another day in paradise...
