Ok, I'll stop using the word prozzie as that upsets people. Shall I use Essex terminology and say dressed like a slut or sl@g then? |
Re: Lack of Clothes - again
No I don't, just badly dressed ones who couldn't care less about the negative impact they're having and then complain why men esp the sub-continent guys bog at them.... Mind you, this recent campaign was started by women. They are just as offended, if not more than the blokes. Simple equation, dress appropriately = no problem, dress inappropriately = Total lack of respect for where you are.

It's now very common to hear people say "I'm rather offended by that" As if it gives them certain rights; it's actually nothing more....It's simply a whine. It's no more than a whine. "I find that offensive", it has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I am offended by that", well so f***ing what?

No one here is arguing against dressing without flashing the flesh whilst in public, but we are smart enough to know that you cannot judge someone solely by their appearance. Maybe you should harrass some tourists if you have such a problem with clothing? You might also want to see a shrink about your rejection issues. |

So? That really makes no difference. It's largely people with nothing better to do who cannot see that the world, and the UAE, has much bigger issues that need to be addressed.

Interesting to see that NOBODY mentioned my previous link about the Scots reviewing their dress code and the Italians who were outraged at the way people dressed. Very interesting article about the former Editor of the lads' mag, Loaded, who now regrets what he did for a living. His views are exactly how I feel, not to see women as sexual objects but for who they really are. Maybe he too is old and backwards according to the definition of people here. http://www.christiantoday.com/articl...porn/30030.htm Respect to him, at least he's realised what he did was so wrong and dare I say it, offensive and degrading to women. One quote from him, “Today I find myself agreeing with some of my fiercest former critics,†he writes. Maybe one day, just one day, you may remember this thread and reflect on what has been discussed. Love to meet up for a coffee with you guys one day I'm sure... |

Nah, I'm fine thanks about needing to see a shrink but thanks for your concern. I never addressed women like you say I am, just echoing what the average Joe-Public say about scantily clad women.

And you have totally overlooked that no one here is saying that we shouldn't dress with some sense of decorum, but perhaps that doesn't fit with your agenda, or of whoever else's agenda you are a mouthpiece for? |

also don't forget about the fame factor for all these people getting involved on twitter/facebook. if you could get a decency law introduced through your social media activities you would likely be famous (with all the benefits). |

Some gems include I personally respect local culture and their life style and rich Islamic heritage. We should respect this country's laws. We thankful to this country, its Citizens, and Authorities who allow us with respect to come and work here. Alhamdulullah we are securing our and our children's bright futures here, which was almost impossible in our home country WELL DONE. Vulgrity should be banned. we are Muslim and its our way. if France and Denmark can, THEN WHY CANT WE Dress code has to be applicable not only in malls, functions, ceremonies, but also at all UAE beaches, especially Dubai. Somehow people tend to forget that young children and families visit beaches as well. But when you go there, the indecent sights shock you to the core though you try not to look at those people Mashaallah, each and every Muslim brother and sister should accept this news and share this idea among the non-Muslims. And this is the best way to spread hijab and the culture of our most precious religion. I know it is a cultural issue but there are far worse things going on in the world than people not covering up - it seems to me this thing has been blown out of all proportion. All that is required is a little education and some locals working as security on mall entrances (those from sub-continent, Philippines, Africa will never be listened too). A few weeks ago it was the younger generation complaining about not being paid 40,000dh for their first job, now this. Next week it will be something else. Do people in this place really not understand how good they have it (rhetorical question). Or the other simple solution is enforce the laws as in Saudi and watch the empty flights arrive and full flights leave. |
