Re: Car Advice - UAE
ok best quote i have been given is 2450 AED per month for a 2012 sportage. Conditions are that i keep it for 2 years and 60,000km per year max - 0.5AED per every KM over
for an extra 200 AED per month will give me CDW insurance - do i need this or should i just keep it to third party?

The chances of having an accident on the road here are about 10 times more than back in the uk, so I would be getting the CDW. Also make sure that you are covered for liability to passengers; if you are at fault in an accident and your passenger is injured/dies, you could be put in jail until blood money is paid to them/their families, so you need insurance cover for that.

price exlcudes CDW and PAI (passenger accident Insurance) which im not sure what it is?
Basically i am getting third party insurance. I can only assume PAI is to stop passenger in my car for asking for blood money?

Re: Car Advice - UAE
I don't know the costs in Dubai but in AD it is 120aed to get your car tested (at change of ownership then not til it is over 3 years old), and 105aed to register it.
Go at an off-peak time or to a remote testing station and the whole process could take as little as 15 minutes.
Lots of banks offer this as a free service for their account holders, eg NBAD, ie they will pick up your car, do the necessary then return it to you.

Still think you should rent especially when you are talking about buying an older car with no warranty. What happens if you leave after 1 year and your 55000 crv with 130,000kms on the clock is worth 30000 when you have to pay the bank back.
