My 30s largely passed without anything really happening (apart from getting married, divorced and emigrating). I'm not sure what happened in my 40s.
The real kicker was becoming eligible for a 10% discount at Rona one Tuesday a month. That's like getting a bus pass at 50.

Oh yes, I was once accidentally an old person in Rona on one of those Tuesdays. If I'd had the necessary short term memory I'd have shopped there on subsequent eligible Tuesdays.

Every tuesday Value Village gives 30% off to over 60's. [struggles to kick up heels in display of spontaneous exuberance] I have to go look.

I got thoroughly insulted by a barmaid in O'Hare a few years ago. They are supposed to card everyone. She didn't card me. When I asked her why not, she simply said that she didn't see the need. Nice.

Lawtons seniors discount (20%) kicks in at 55 which is nice but I'm a bit away from Shoppers' equivalent.
That's quite a difference when buying testing strips and other higher priced things like vitamins. Good for plenty of other things too

Also the realization that I actual dated some really nice guys in my 20s but dismissed them for silly reasons when really I shouldn't have been so picky.
Ironically I am even more picky now when there is less selection in the 'dating pool' lol

For me, it didn't dawn on me that people had settled down and were starting family's until I was 30.

Fortunately, fate took over in my mid-thirties and it all worked out (sort of
). But when I look back, I can see that I bought into the "experience is everything" mythology that gets perpetuated by cities like London a bit too much.

If only I could keep away from myself....lol.....
Maybe some are just predisposed to more negative outlooks. Ive been that way since at least as far back as my memory goes.
Work in progress.. Really hard and not natural to think positive for some people.
