What would you have done differently?

I would have moved to Toronto in the first place rather than wasting my time living in Montreal. Not a good idea when you can't speak French.

picked calgary instead of edmonton.
shipped with someone other than whites.
left some funds in uk to change should exchange improve.
wait until winter to buy house, lost $40,000.
not bought car from someone in a porta cabin, blew up lost $3000. (yes i know but it was cheap and i was desperate).

I really can't say but it is possible that people don't want to move in the rainy season out on the coast.
Other reasons for not as many sales same as the UK I would think, kids in school and not wanting to move them in the middle of a school year.
Cheers

Any way - we are heading out allegedly in Sept - may try to rent and then buy - but bringing two large dogs - may not be so easy to get a rental!!

we have seen the drop i mentioned on houses for sale when we were looking in july which are still for sale. around here that is very unusual, there was a time last year when houses were exchanging in a week with little discount in price. a colleagues wife is an office manager for a realtor. people are leaving the office and looking for other work its dried up that much, though on the plus side its due to pick up around may with a 6% increase forecast for the year.
