Of course I realise that.

For the record, so as to avoid any doubt, I have no issue with the likes of Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Mladic, etc. being put to death. I really don't. Call it bloodlust, revenge, justice, whatever you wish to, I really don't care. I sleep in a very comfortable fashion each and every night.

I'll leave the debate as to what type of person I am and how civilised I am to those that think it worthy of debate.

According to Iraqi law it is.

How you do reconcile wishing to impose your wishes on Iraqis with your objection to the West "invading" Iraqi so as to overthrow a dictator? Is one any more justified that the other? Are they not attempting to benefit the Iraqi people (setting aside the incompetent way the "invasion" was handled?

Same way I reconcile wishing to impose my views with regard to capital punishment on the Americans, the Chinese, the Japanese etc ad nauseum.

It simply wrong to take any human life in cold blood. I sleep fine at night too, (unless shes snoring)

Was that ever a law, I thought that was just mob rule? Didn't Denning have anything to say about it; perish the thought

Tell you what, nip over to Iraq and tell them that they are all neanderthals and that the laws of the West are far superior. Take a picture of Mr. Trudeau and a copy of the Charter and tell them that he is the epitome of a decent chap and that they should all embrace all that he had to say.

Different strokes, different folks and all that.

So, the UN, with its headquarters in the US, bans judicial executions does it? Has anyone told the US, Russia or China?

The old days were much better, then one could gas an entire district without so much as grumble (Hussein not Hitler)

I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything I wouldn't be prepared to do myself, otherwise I would be guitly of Bono Syndrome so, the answer is: yes

Having said that, hanging is a little inhumane, a round to the head would be much better.

It's easy to be hard on a discussion board isn't it, AC?

Alright...for all you Bono haters, at least he is out there doing it and raising the awareness. What are others of that elk doing? F'all, unless they have a movie / album coming out. Bill Gates and Melinda also do their bit, and God bless them both. You don't read about Melinda coming out of some fancy restaurant exposing her knickers or t1t$, or walking down some red carpet

I'm afraid I've no idea who Melinda is. Bono however, is the planet's biggest wanker, partly for the reasons cited by AC and partly because the wearing of sunglasses indoors is absurd.

It is actually 'ilk', i.e, 'what others of that ilk are doing' an Elk is a large mammal that looks like a deer!

Further, ilk properly means "from the same place". Melinda don't look Irish.
