Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

As ever on occasions such as today's result, the Toon Army's collective eye looks down with satisfaction at yet another defeat for the mackems.

"Wey man, w' might be ****** bad, but wor berrer than them buggars."

As an aside and as a free contribution to the wisdom of our readers, the Germans have a word for teams like S*nderland...they're called Fahrzugmannschaften, which literally means "elevator teams". They oscillate up and down between divisions, doing well among the dross but never managing to maintain a place among the top class.

I like the concept.

Obviously not my first choice, but better them than Chel$ea.

Good result today mate.

Yes, I agree, and thank you.

I don't disllike Newcastle, it's more a case of a strong dislike of Sam Allardyce's tactics when he was Bolton manager. I'm also having much fun this season watching Tottenham's league position and waiting for them to be knocked out of Europe.....

Absolutely in agreement. Big Sam may be the worst thing to hit Toon since Ruud Gullit. Today he had Obafemi Martins playing wide right with Milner and Smith in t'middle.

After our brilliant draw at home against the bottom club, the Massive Toon Team face a far stiffer challenge tomorrow.

The second bottom club away.

This should sort the men from the boys.

< but I think I know the outcome of that already >

They haven't lost yet! Have faith Novo, you guys were losing against derby until Viduka scored for you.

(Didn't he used to play for Boro?)

No, we haven't lost yet. On the other hand the kick-off isn't for another 35 minutes, so it's hard to feel complacent. :(

Yes, Viduka played for Boro and for Leeds before that. He's shit.

On edit: I've just looked at the team sheets and apparently {{{l'il mickey}}} and Shola Ameobi could both be on the bench. Even better news is that Wigan have that lovable Toon reject Titus ("whad'aveIdunnow?") Bramble at centre back. With him on the pitch there's always a chance for the opposition.

Would you have preferred it if he hadn't scored against Derby then?

Hi there Novo,

Just found this thread otherwise could have offered you some back up against the glory hunters who have been criticising our great (yet underachieving) establishment!!!

Who knows now that QPR have some dosh our Man U and Arsenal fans might change their allegiance!!;)

Being a season ticket holder I was at the Derby game and yes the Big Felas tactics left an incredible amount to be desired - it's as if he knows something we humble wage paying massive do not - like Martins secret desire to be a right winger and paying £6m for Spains best defensive prospect and leaving him on the bench is a good idea:confused:

Never mind here's hoping we can put one over Brucie today.

regards,

erinbrooke:thumbup:

Just been looking at the early results...

Chelsea 4-4 Villa with Villa playing 10 men for the 2nd half. One for the highlight reels, eh? Was anyone watching it live?
